Renaming file extension from .mts to .m2ts was necessary here. v.1.97.6

That´s one step forward. Thank you! :D

But there are still two problems:
1) Is it possible to preview the mts-files without renaming?
2) After renaming the preview works - but without sound.

I had sound with the sample (using ffdshow's audio decoder). Maybe your codec package has a setting to choose video/audio component for playback?

I think the world/market/manufacturers has already chosen.
Theora has had HD support (up to 1'048'576 pixels per dimension) for years and nobody noticed, so this "news" is and never was new :-)
There is indeed no WinZIP under my rock.

Using it with my Vista-Laptop (with K-Lite Codec-Pack) there is sound.
Windows7-PC: no sound when playing it with XnView (VLC, KM-Player ...: sound ok!).
Strange!

But I still hope XnView also works without renaming ...

That´s great. Thank you!!! :D :D :D

I hope, it´s coming soon ...

When looking mt2s-Files with XnView on a Windows7-PC there is no sound (Vista: no problems).
Is it a bug? Maybe also solved in the next version?

Hi.

My problem is back ...

Now I use Windows 8 and XnView 2.0.
MTS- and MOV-Files aren´t shown in XnView ( no thumbnails / no preview ...), AVI works.
Any idea?

No. But the videos work with VLC, WMP ...
And with another pc (Win7) it works (without klite ...) - but still without sound.

And now?
I think the installation of codecs can lead to new problems:
matt1696 wrote:No problem.

That's why I don't trust codec packs. With the mixture of their installing so many utilities and all the other things that people have on their PCs, you end up many possible routes that can be taken to play a file. Then when something doesn't work because a preferred route causes a conflict or something, it's difficult to pull them apart and force the player to use a particular method.

Better to keep it clean and install something like FFDshow that does most things, and then a few extra splitters and codecs that are needed in addition when you come across them.

But basically it's a minefield!
So I hope there is another option to show mts/mov with XnView?
What should I do?

For me, the only solution is to use ffmpeg, like Klite codec pack or other
