About XnviewMP Performance

Post by lckxf »

Does XnviewMP(x64) support multi-thread processing of the PNGs ? My PC system is Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64.
I have a large number of PNGs (more than 100,000).When browsing these photos, especially the high resolution ones,I got no more than 50% usage with my two-core CPU.
So even the XnviewMP(x64) support x64 system , doesn't it support multi-thread processing of the PNGs yet ?

No,when viewing the pictures.
What I want to know is if PNG decoding uses only one core of the Multi-core CPU.
When viewing large size JPG ,usage of the CPU can go up to 97%. But PNG never. Though the decoding is ongoing.

OK,I've also done some test with ACDSee X64 ,it seemed that ACDSee X64 also work with one core when decoding the PNGs . But XnvieMP x64 is faster .
So, will PNG decoding support multi-thread ?
If not , maybe I should convert all my PNGs to BMPs . :(
