Category selection does not work as a Search criteria

Hello, I am using XnView in a somewhat non-traditional way. I am using it for some research that involves image tagging. I use your Category feature to apply one or more custom tags to each image.

To study the research, I'd like to be able to find certain images that meet a criteria based on different combinations of categories (ie tags) that are attached to image(s).

It seems like the Category option is not working inside the Tools->Search window in XnView MP v0.53 beta (Windows):

For example: when I choose for my condition:
Image Width - is greater than - 0
...then it produces a list of all images in my search path

But if I choose:
Categories - (select one or more categories)
...then it never produces any match

Also, somewhat related... when you work on fixing this issue. Could you please consider a new feature to allow a negative (ie NOT) in the query? For example:
Match all of the following conditions:
Image Width - is greater than - 0
Categories - Category X, Category Y, Category Z
NOT Image Format - JPEG
NOT Categories - Category A, Category B, Category C

(So in this example, it would match images with a width greater than 0, any format except JPEG, and also among the subset of categories either X, Y or Z but NOT A, B or C)
