Hello,
Is it possible to specify an exact crop size window like say 1600x900 without having to drag out to size manually?
Doing it manually usually means the crop window jumps in intervals of more than one pixel meaning it is difficult to calibrate exactly 1600px say.
In the example shot cropping steps from 1599 to 1601 & I want 1600!
Thanks.
Not entirely sure how I can use Canvas Size as,unless I'm wrong,it sticks to aspect ratio of original image.
I want to crop to a certain area & also reduce overall resolution to wide screen 1600x900.
I was hoping there was a way to create automatically a crop window of 1600x900 which I can move around on the original image.
As far as I can see I can only do that manually & as I say doing it manually is awkward as sizing the crop window means it can jump a number of pixels making exactly 1600 or 900 difficult.
With Canvas size... you can create a 1600x900 crop area as follows:
Standard Size -- Custom
Keep ratio -- Unchecked
But the crop area can only be located in one of the 9 predefined positions, so there is no way to set an arbitrary position.
As far as I know there is no way to define a crop area in pixels and then be able to move that area with the mouse, although you could always post a request for a new feature in the Suggestions section.
If you also want to change the pixel dimensions of the cropped area, you would need to resample using Image > Resize...
Edit:
To set the pixel dimensions of a crop area on the screen precisely, zoom well in before dragging the relevant side, while watching the crop dimensions displayed in the status bar.
