Catgories lost when file change location

Post by ryangus »

I'm using the portable version, and have categorised many images. When I use the USB device on another PC, and it gets assigned a different drive letter, all the categories are lost!! :( Is there any way to ensure categories are always maintained, regardless of the drive letter for the images?

Aware of this issue, I tried to work around it by keeping my pics in a mounted partition that I always assign the same drive letter to.

However, when moving pics within such a partition AND within XnView (dragging them in the browser, from the list view onto the tree), XnView still breaks its own categories.

Is this intended behavior?

Hi,

any chance that it could be changed in a near future. I have 1000+ images that I need to move from one disk to another, and all images are already categorized. I'd like not to redo all the job a second time ;)

Cheers
