File Magic .mag files

Post by vinny33 »

I need to be able to extract images from .mag format. Currently, the XN software will extract fine if the image is a bitonal .tif. If the image is color or a different file format wrapped in the .mag file, I am unable to extract it. Any suggestions for me or can anyone point me to a tool that will work?

thanks!!

Here you go!! I sent you some samples to contact@<!--// removed* //--> on 5/13/13 as well. Please let me know what you find. I know Fortis would take color files (.bmp, .jpg, etc..) and zip them inside the .mag wrapper. My goal is to just have the file extracted in whatever file format with the same file prefix as the .mag file. Since you have a limit of 256Kb, here is but one example.

Thanks SO much!

Pierre,

Since you are able to discern that it is a color file, and obviously can "unwrap" the .mag file format, can you extract the file into either the .zip or into it's native file format? Please email me offline so we can discuss what it will take for you to help me out....

THX!

can you please look into this? I will gladly work out some arrangement to make it worth both our effort. If it is color, it is stated that pkzip is used to create the base of the .mag. i may have sent you a file where that was not the case. Are you interested in looking at others to see if you can develop a solution? I'm hoping so.....please let me know.

Thx,

Vinny

Hi everyone, do you have any update about this?

I'm trying to migrate millions of .mag to pdf. The nconvert works fine normally, but in some cases the pdf doesn't have every .mag page.
Do you know how to fix that issue?

The command that I use is:
nconvert -multi -c 1 -o % -out pdf FILENAME.mag

Thanks!
