Request: please enable some tools in view mode.
Cannot use batch convert tool in view mode really makes me sad.
Switch in view mode and browser mode waste too much time.
Edit: seems the delete hotkey is also disabled in view mode, please enable it.

Why do you want to use the batch convert? It is only one file. You can convert it by using 'Save As..'.Pikashi wrote:Cannot use batch convert tool in view mode really makes me sad.

Or, perhaps, you want to have the non-distructive editing features from Batch Convert?

ActuallyI rarely browse images in the browser tab of XnView.
I prefer Explorer or Totalcmd as my photo manager but not XnView since they are simple and quicker(on loading thumbnails).
For me, XnView is a image viewer with many powerful fuctions, it's inconvenient if these fuctions could only be used in browser mode.

Re: Request: please enable some tools in view mode.
I would like the entire toolbar in both modes. e.g. it's frustrating that the Info icon is ONLY in view mode. That's one of the most important.
Of course there could be preferences/settings to let people choose.

In other modes the Info pane is on-screen by default. Only in Full Screen you must enable it and move the mouse in the right part of your screen to show (unfold) it.ProductArchitect wrote:I would like the entire toolbar in both modes. e.g. it's frustrating that the Info icon is ONLY in view mode. Ok, but you still did not answer to my question. Why do you need the BATCH (which implies many files) convert in View Mode (in which you have only one file open)? You can simply convert the opened file by using 'Save As...'Pikashi wrote:ActuallyI rarely browse images in the browser tab of XnView.

Yeah, that's because before the convert or resize or do anything, I must view the original size of at least one of the images in XnView.m.Th. wrote:Ok, but you still did not answer to my question. I cannot decide what to do just by checking the thumbnails.
Re: Request: please enable some tools in view mode.
It is a basic usability problem to have just a button in an unrelated form (tab) to deal with something not tied with the main object in the said form. All the buttons are doing actions on the opened image, which btw takes 90% from screen, whereas this just one button does an action on another form, on a hidden (now) unrelated selection.Pikashi wrote:Yeah, that's because before the convert or resize or do anything, I must view the original size of at least one of the images in XnView.m.Th. wrote:Ok, but you still did not answer to my question. To accomplish your task, I'd suggest to change the layout of your browser (you can save till 4 custom layouts as you know) to a filmstrip layout, something like:
NB: The folder tree from the left is cropped in the screen shot.

Re: Request: please enable some tools in view mode.
But why not just give a menu item like XnView classic,
I used to press Ctrl+U and Shift+Delete, and now none of them lefted in XnViewMP.
Yeah actually I hate to use XnViewMP as a file/image manager because it's really so slow and supports too many filetypes even like video, audio and pdf document and shows them by default.
I only want a XnView with unicode support but not XnViewMP.

also the delete and shift+delete hotkey pleasexnview wrote: Ok, i'll add 'Batch convert' in view mode
Yes I can set to view images only with filter, xnview wrote: Slow?? And it's the same support of filetype
and XnView will remember the filter settings on next launch,
but XnViewMP cannot remember even I click save layout.
Re: Request: please enable some tools in view mode.
Pierre, I think it related to the filetype display issue. And it's the same support of filetype
I set XnViewMP to display image files only. (Settings > File List > Custom Filter). I UnChecked all options except check-boxes for "Images" (which are checked by default and can not be changed).
If I go to Fullscreen view from Browse mode, and move pointer to the top of screen, the "Float view" appears displaying thumbnails of image files only.
However, if I go to Fullscreen from View mode, the "Float view" also displays pdf icons.

I can edit custom filters to hide unwanted files:xnview wrote:Option>File list is not restored correctly?Pikashi wrote: and XnView will remember the filter settings on next launch,

but this is not what I want.
I switch the preset filters to 'Images' to show images only, and my select filter is restored to 'Custom' on the launch of XnViewMP even I have setted it to 'Images':

but XnView just remember it correctly:
