Batch Convert jb2 files

I would like assistance/information on how to batch convert jb2 files into either jpg or tif or even pdf files.
I have tons of these files. they were result of extracting embedded images out of original pdf files. I now need to convert them into some kind of image format commonly viewable in non-special applications.
I downloaded XnView MP 0.61
I tried using batch convert - but it just says
C:\TEMP\91060 JB2 Test\JB2_001\001\JB2Test00173.jb2 0x0x0 : not a picture
for all of the files I was trying to batch convert.

I am new to this arena and working with these types of files. Any assistance is appreciated and I am happy to try and answer any questions I can.

is this something I just execute on my whole computer, or is there some kind of plugin manager for xnview? or some special way or place it needs installed.

Only to put the file in Plugins folder of XnConvert

Probably I am doing something wrong, or these files just arent going to convert. Can you give me opinion on what I can try converting them to? Or anything I can try to even see if they are viewable. They have filesizes (meaning they are not empty files).
I put the .exe in the plugins folder.
I have tried to convert to tif, pdf, bmp, jpg, but it gives this error for all files:
C:\TEMP\91060 JB2 Test\JB2_001\001\JB2Test00173.jb2 0x0x0 : not a picture
Maybe they just wont convert?

The following zip attachment contains a JB2 file created in Nuance OmniPage 18 :

It opens correctly in XnView with the jbig2dec plugin in the Plugins folder (but there is no option to save to JB2 format).

It doesn't seem to open in XnViewMP or XnConvert 32bit with the jbig2dec plugin in the relevant Plugins folder...

DittoDDS could therefore probably use the XnView batch conversion operations to batch convert his JB2 files pending investigation of the XnConvert issue.

(Note: JBIG2 JP2 file format is a black and white format that provides very efficient compression: to prevent excessive file size growth after conversion it would be necessary to save to a suitable format such as TIFF with CCITT G4 compression.)

Hoping that I am following this properly.
I downloaded xnView, as opposed to the MP version. I can confirm that I can view the test jb2 file that was uploaded.
However, i cannot view my jb2 files.
In trying to convert 3 sample files in xnview, it said the format of the file could not be determined. It looks as though the plugin is working properly as I see it flash on my screen in trying to view the files, but they still are not viewable.
I can provide sample, but prefer it to be direct and not posted.
