0.61 histogram scaling and appearance

Post by CameronD »

MP v0.61, Windows 7 - x64.
default browser view

Axis scaling:
When the histogram is in the "Info" window it seems to be locked to a fixed aspect ratio for no good reason
For wide windows it pads the histogram to the right with the background colour. This means we no longer have any reference as to where the saturation point is.

For high windows it pads above the max value, which is not as much a problem, but simply a waste of space.

XnView classic scales X and Y axes independently, which I find more useful.

Clarity:
Also, the MP histogram can sometimes be hard to read. The red almost disappears under the green and completely disappears when under blue and green. If the background could be mid-grey then the overlaid lines become clearer - I notice it when I enable the luminance channel. This is on a hardware-calibrated monitor.
I cannot find any options for adjusting histogram characteristics - I hope I have not missed something.

Cheers,
Cameron.
