Currently the update feature offers to take the user to the download page where presumably the user will have to download the update and then install it manually.
Perhaps a better and more efficient method would be to offer an automatic update whereby the user simply affirms the update, and the software automatically downloads the latest update and installs it.
I, for one, do not have the time to visit the website, download the update, and install the update. However, I would have the time to click a button, wait a few minutes, and then proceed with my work.
Current method: (1) New version popup --> (2) wait for download / forum page to load in browser --> (3) find link for new version --> (4) save new version to hard drive (wait for download) --> (5) find new version install file on hard drive and run it --> (6) close out old version and run new version.
Proposed method: (1) New version popup --> (2) indicate yes to install --> (3) wait for automatic download / install / update (kinda like Windows update) --> (4) continue with new version / allow software to reload itself
