Request: Exclude a category in the "Categories Filter"

I would like to have the possibilty to exclude a category in the "Categories Filter".

Example:

I have the categories
Jim
Bill
Sandy

Now, I want to see all pictures of Bill and Sandy but no pictures with Bill or Sandy and Jim.

So if it would possible to mark the categories "Bill" and "Sandy" like usuall but "Jim" as "negative" this would be great.

Could be done with the "Alt-key" while selecting the categorie and a different color for marking this.

This is a common problem and it is one of the targets of the planned enhancement for the filtering engine.

In fact, we need a tri-state checkbox at the right of the category, like in Lightroom and other similar programs, with the following meanings:

Unchecked - NOT in ("negative" as you call it)
Checked - In
Grayed - Doesn't matter
