XnViewMP 0.68 crash at startup

same problem with XMP on a W 8.1 laptop : launching MP directly lead to a crash.
Happily launching Xnview by double clic on a file - with the W 8.1 explorer- => always no crash !

absolutely same issue.
SONY VAIO laptop with win8.1 and always crash when start MP from shourtcut and no crash when start from file
no any issues with same version on desktop PC
