Only command line NConvert supports CMYK as far as I know, and I can't confirm whether saving to CMYK is actually supported... What format are your images: if they're Photoshop PSD that might be an extra complication.

I believe open source GIMP has some support but I'm not sure if saving to CMYK is fully supported, and I believe that the commercial program PaintShop Pro also has some CMYK support.

However, Googling 'convert rgb to cmyk online' produces several sites offering free online conversion, such as this one:

http://www.rgb2cmyk.org/

I have no experience of those sites but one might possibly provide the simplest solution.

Thank you cday!

(To keep the sequence of posts here making sense I have NOT deleted the post that follows, which includes a huge mistake I clarify later in the thread.)

Wouldn't you think that http://www.rgb2cmyk.org/ would do what the ULR says? It doesn't. I couldn't find any option to do so, and help search returned no clues. I didn't want to spend the $120 for Photoshop, for a one off small project. Talked with Adobe and help guy was.....very helpful. He confirmed Photoshop would do what I need, and suggested I wait until I have all my images where I want them...one folder. Then buy Photoshop, use it, and within the return period, 30 days, return it, for all money back. Since I don't expect to have this kind of project in front of me again, this seems like a very fine solution.

Dang. I made a mistake! My memory was the frustration with Xnview and it not being able to convert to CYMK. I went to http://www.rgb2cmyk.org/ but never got as far as downloading it. Somebody erase my last comment...error. Damn, being human can be embarrassing.

I did a quick test and it seemed to work, although the instruction to 'Click on the link with the right mouse button and choose 'save as' ...' was slightly misleading as that option wasn't available in FireFox, but 'Save Link As...' saved the converted file.

Did you read the 'About' section on the home page which has some useful infornation about CMYK?
