Hello,
I just installed XnView. It complains that I do not have ghostscript installed, even though I do. Such things happen - maybe it expected the gs executable HERE, and it's actually THERE. I have Ghostscript 9.14, it is in c:\Program Files\gs\gs9.14\bin. How do I teach XnView where it is?
Thanks in advance,

Re: Xnview can't find Ghostscript
If you are using XnView Classic which is 32-bit software you need GS 32-bit: if your operating system is Windows 64-bit that would normally be installed in C:\Program Files (x86)...jerryk1234 wrote:I just installed XnView. Is that the problem?

Well, I installed 32-bit GS. Now, xnview can display PDF files. BTW, I don't see any mention of "Classic" in the info screen. It just says "Version 2.25 ( Nov 4 2014 ).
Xnview still does not display thumbnails for the PDFs. Is that normal?

Re: Xnview can't find Ghostscript
The name 'XnView Classic' was introduced fairly recently to distinguish the original program from the new 'XnViewMP' program: multi-platform with unicode support, that is still in beta. The new name hasn't done much to end confusion, with people regularly posting under the wrong forum heading, and frequently referring in posts to XnViewMP as 'XnView' to add to the confusion!jerryk1234 wrote:Well, I installed 32-bit GS. It's not something I would normally notice, but looking at my browser I don't have thumbnails either...Xnview still does not display thumbnails for the PDFs. Is that normal?
Maybe someone else can comment...
Edit: There are thumbnails for PDF files in my XnViewMP browser.

OK, I think I understand. "XnView" is the classic 32bit variety, and XnViewMP is the 64-bit stuff. I installed "MP", and now I have PDF thumbnails.... Cool.

XnView 'Classic' is Windows-only and 32-bit only, XnViewMP is available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions...jerryk1234 wrote:OK, I think I understand. "XnView" is the classic 32bit variety, and XnViewMP is the 64-bit stuff. I installed "MP", and now I have PDF thumbnails.... Cool.
