XnView MP in Xubuntu

Hello
I want to use XnView MP in xubuntu 14.04. All my photos are on a Network server. I saw the post on how to access the server by using the integration menu. Unfortunately, Iwhen I do this I cannot see the network in the window.
In other programs this works OK.
Has anyone any suggestion on the cause of the problem?
I downloaded the paquet for Debian distributions but I have a Xubuntu installation therfore using XFCE.
I thank you in advance for your suggestions.
