Opening an image when XnView is closed overwrites open tabs

If I open an image when XnView is open, it is opened in a new tab as expected. However, if the program is closed and opening an image opens it, all the open tabs are lost, replaced by a single tab with the newly opened image. This happens when 'one instance only' option is checked and the session is typically restored if open XnView from shortcut and not by opening an image.
