By default only the most common formats are available for loading/saving. If you want to have special formats, also, please visit the options, category "General > Startup"
Well, since a couple of versions, "Use all formats available" has been checked by default...

The tips are 'dumb' ascii texts which tell you (more or less) smart things ;-). There's no link and/or logic between the program and the tips.
