XnView crashes on Windows7

Post by curbowman »

My XnView has been crashing after mere seconds of opening. I removed the 2.30 version and insttalled the 2.31 but the problem is still there.

What surprises me is the fact that the 2.30 version worked flawlessly during years, and today it has been crash after crash, even after the update.

Any suggestions?

Try to drag&drop an image file on XnView's icon?

I'm getting consistent crashes while browsing certain folders, and I've narrowed it down to some video files, mainly FLV files (only some, not all FLVs). If I move the FLV files from the folder - no crash.
So check if the folder you're trying to browse has video files - if it does, this is the same bug. If not, then there are 2 different crashes. :-/

I also get the crash on some WEBM files which is weird, because I didn't think XnView supported WEBM, though on the subject please see my suggestion for thumbnail/previewing them here - http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... 72#p124564

In case it was ffmpeg related, I deleted the ffmpeg.exe from the AddOn folder and restarted XnView but it's still crashing.

Cheers.
