"Show files in subfolders": Toolbar button and menu

Post by Karl02 »

There is a button "Show files in subfolder" (plural "s" missing) in the browser toolbar. I would suggest that it toggles between activated and deactivated when clicking on it (similar to the grid button in the viewer toolbar). Furthermore, there should also be a menu entry for this function in the "View" menu (with tick mark or small icon).

Tested with XnViewMP version 0.75 beta2 (2015-06-06) win32 and 0.72 (2014-12-19) win32 on Windows 7 64 bit SP1.

I support this request too.

Up to now, "show pictures in subfolders" is not a "toggle".

You ask for it in a menu entry, it displays OK (sometiemes after some time) , but as soon as you open a picture ( or even operate an action on it ? ), the display only shows the folder of the selected picture.
When you have hundreds or thousands pictures in the subfolders, it's boring, you have to ask again for recursive search of pictures and to wait again to see the content of the subfolders.
Dommage, l'était sympa cette planète ;-(

I support this too, in fact it was a feature in XnView Classic.

I suppose the button "Show files in subfolder(s)" has the same effect as rightclick on a folder in the folder pane and choose "Show all files (recursive)".

In XnView Classic, when you open a picture and close it again, the Browser still shows all the pictures in all the subfolders included.
It would only exit the recursive mode as soon as you click on any folder in the folder pane. All very locigal and nice to use some time.

In XnViewMP, you can open pictures, go back to the Browser tab and still have all the pictures recursive.
But as soon as you close one or more pictures, the Browser only shows the files where the last closed picture is stored.

Han
