Weird problem with XnView

Post by Rasheed187 »

Hi,

I don't know how to describe this exactly, but what happens is that when I click on thumbnails (in browser), after a while one of the opened images will stay open in the background. For no apparent reason you will get to see the arrow cursor near the scrollbar, and if I click on it, then the image will open. What does trigger this? Is it a bug or a feature, and how can I turn it off? :)

Thanks,

Rasheed

Thanks for the response, and I also want to say that XnView is one of the best apps ever. :D

But anyway, it's weird, it seems like my screen capture app can't capture the icon, but are you saying you have never heard of this problem before? I even upgraded to a newer version, but the problem stays. BTW, the icon is the "resize" symbol. But do you see the extra space next to part of the scrollbar? That's another symptom, as soon as I get to see that, that means a picture stays open in the background.

I'm not sure what you mean, is this a feature in XnView? I don't believe I'm using any special font settings. But I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem, is the extra space next to the scrollbar normal? It happens from out of nowhere. :|

BTW, is there a way to turn off "tool tips" in the thumbnail browser? And how to change language settings in XnViewMP? I'm going to check if XnViewMP has the same problem. For some reason I still prefer the Classic version, I think it's because of the settings window.

There is a setting in Windows to scale everything on the screen, text and icons, I think that is probably what Pierre is asking ??

Windows_7_Scale_screen.png
That's the setting for Windows 7...

In Tools > Options... there are many options so it may be worth exploring those sometime...

And how to change language settings in XnViewMP?
In XnViewMP settings are in Tools > Settings... :

Settings_General--General.png
If possible please post XnViewMP questions separately under that forum heading to avoid possible confusion. :)

Thanks, and sorry for the late reply. I think I have already solved the problem, by changing a certain setting, can't remember which one. But yes, some tools have so many options that it's easy to miss certain things, can't believe I didn't notice the "disable tooltips" option. :)
