I am sorry, if I have overlook an already matching topic. This is my very first forum posting and my English has its limits.
But now back to the topic...
I have discovered XnViewMP for myself. most notably the categories. But if I make backup of my photos - I copy the whole file to an usb-stick - the backup-photos have no more categories. I have tried to find an answer in the internet and in this forum. The categories are saved in XnView.db, aren't they? Can I copy this file? Have I to change any pathes? Is there another way?
I have also tried to export the photos, but there are also no categories anymore.
Hopefully my question is not to stupid!

categories are saved in xnview.db if you don't write metadata in the file itself.

The easy way to do this is to go into settings/metdata and have Xnviewmp write the metadata to your images then move them to usb.ConanEdo wrote: I have also tried to export the photos, but there are also no categories anymore.
