PDF Batch Convert Prints First Page Only

I am attempting to batch convert a number of PDF documents to a lower quality to reduce file size.

I have tried a number of options including the "convert multipage file to mulipage file (when possible)" and "convert all pages from multipage file".

The result is always that the smaller converted file contains the first page only of the original document.

Is this a bug or a setting that I need to change?
