Pressing Enter doesn't go to the File in Browser anymore

Post by borgia »

(Why oh why did I mess with it! You ever feel like that?)
I had an older Xnview installed (2.1 (I think)), and installed the new one (2.34)... (in Windows 8.3)

When you opened a file, it opened Xnview, and showed you the picture.
If you pressed ENTER (with the picture showing in the viewer) it would jump to that file, in the file browser.
Then pressing ENTER again would just open the picture again.

Now when I press Enter it doesn't go to the FILE in the Xnview Browser, just the top of the FOLDER and I lose the place of the file.
How do I change it back to how it was, when you press Enter it should go to the FILE in the Xnview Browser.

Sequence:
In Windows 8,3 I double click a file, it opens in Xnview, showing that picture.
When I press Enter in Xnview, it goes to the top of the FOLDER, that the picture is in and not the FILE.

I need it to go to the FILE, not the FOLDER.
How do I do this, or has Xnview changed this completely.
(It must have been something in SETTINGS, because after I installed the new one,
even the OLD one did not go to the file, when pressing Enter. *argh*)

You're doomed. Seriously. In our parallel reality they have not yet invented Windows 8.3. They just skipped it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ver_(comm ... rsion_list
But when we here meet similar problem, we navigate to Tools->Options->Browser->tab Browser and check "Synchronize Browser selection with current View".

Many thanks! That did the trick...
(Easy when you know how! I must have done this before, since it was always that way.)

Yeah, I had a nag screen for ages asking me to update from 8 to 8,3 ... and never did, but then it stopped.
I thought PROBABLY M$ had just MADE everyone update, while we rested.
AND I finally managed to figure out how to see what version of Windows I have.
(Apparently they removed it from MyComputer > Properties..,. but that doesn't matter!
ONLY the "Sync to Browser" matters. -- Many thanks. Appreciated.)
