[ERROR] Windows 8.1

Post by leo147 »

Good afternoon everyone,

I am trying to install Xnview 2:34 in Windows 8.1 64-bit, but after installing Xnview and Ghostscript, when I try to view the files in .eps or .ai they do not appear, do not load and does not view the files in the folder.

Someone help me know how to solve this?

Thank you

If you haven't already done so, you need to install Ghostscript x32 even under Windows x64, as XnView Classic is 32-bit software.

If you are still unable to view the files, you may (I'm not sure without checking) need to set the following option:

Tools > Options > General -- Display all image file types

If that still doesn't work please report back...

Edit:

When you succeed in opening the images, you will likely need to increase the DPI used by Ghostcript when rasterising the files from the default value of 72 to a higher value in order to obtain satisfactory quality:

Tools > Options > Read/Write -- EPS/PS/AI/PDF

Thanks cday

I performed these procedures but still can not view the files in .eps or .ai. In the files of the reading list is not in the two extensions and are the one I need to see.
Could you help me fix this error?

Do you have an example file you could upload, 2MiB max to upload as an attachment to a post on the forum, or upload to a file hosting service?

Could you please clarify that?

Have you tried opening the files using File > Open... ?

Unfortunately I can not upload files that are direct from the company. Adobe Illustrator are normal files, with no effect or something that can give error. Computers using Windows 7 I am using an older version of 2:34 and even open files perfectly.

Attached is a list of supported files, but realized the installation of Ghostscript directly from the site with the following name: "gs918w64"
Attachments
list of supported files (not in .EPS and .AI)
list of supported files (not in .EPS and .AI)
The files do not open

May I refer you again to my earlier post:

And then the remainder of that post:

Hopefully you will be able to open the files now...

I realized the process of installing the Xnview and the old Ghostscript and 32bit version. It worked perfectly.

Just one question, it would be possible for me to create categories and export to other machines and the files already get with the categories?

For example, I have a base with 64 categories and more sub-categories that are naminha machine, but to export the file (.txt) and import on another machine the same can no longer leave the categories marked, so I have to mark file by file.

and would have to edit the IPTC & XMP the .EPS and .AI files? I failed to do this.

Thank cday

I'm sorry, I don't use the browser category functions myself... :(

Also, I'm not sure if .EPS and .AI files support IPTC & XMP data, but someone else will know... :?:

As this is a different topic, it would be more likely to be seen by people who can help if you could start a new thread in the Xnview Classic > General Support section of the forum...
