I hope this isn't a stupid question, but here goes....
I use Linux Mint, and have XnViewMP version Version 0.72 x64 (Dec 19 2014) installed. I was going to update to the 0.76.1, and went to the "Synaptic Package Manager" in Mint Linux to get the new version, but see they still only have the 0.72 version listed in their repository. So, in reading around on the Mint Linux forum, I found out the most recent versions of programs are not always in the Package manager because they only put in the most stable versions.
So, is 0.72 more stable than 0.76.1, and should I leave 0.72 in my system, or is 0.76.1 just as stable and should I manually update by downloading from the XnView site?

Thank you. I've installed it, used it, and all is well.
