Pause/play slideshow via keyboard without "Pause" key?
Is there a way to pause/play a slideshow via keyboard without the PC "Pause" key?
Space bar didn't work under Windows or Mac. Pause key worked on Windows, but there seems to be no way to send the "Pause" keycode intrinsically on Mac (even if it is on the keyboard physically).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Break_key ... _keyboards and following "Keyboards without Break key". Try them and find which one works for you. For me in Windows on PC worked Ctrl+NumLock.
I don't have Mac with or without Windows, so I can't verify any of solutions mentioned there -> https://discussions.apple.com/thread/38 ... 0&tstart=0, I'm not even sure they speak about Windows on Mac.

Unfortunately, none of that is useful.
When I say intrinsically, I mean there seems to be no concept of the key under Mac OS X, e.g. it is not listed as a possibility in the OS header file that defines keycodes, and key remapping software can detect the key on a PC keyboard, but the OS can only use it after mapped to something else. The Apple forums thread you link to is discussing running Windows on Mac hardware and using a virtual Pause key in that context.

Yes, XnViewMP 0.76.1, under Mac OS X 10.10.5.

Re: Pause/play slideshow via keyboard without "Pause" key?
Oh and this is the workaround I'm using at the moment, works well but somewhat annoyingly slow. Macros via BetterTouchTool.
The first one just clicks the play/pause button, but is somewhat complex due to mouse focus issues. Works on my 1920x1200 screen, would need to modify for other screen sizes.
Sometimes the above is too slow to pause the current image, so the second one immeduatly stops with "esc", and then goes back to full screen mode, which has the effect of pausing, just takes longer.

In context of subforum where question was originally posted my answer was correct.

Yeah but this is XnView MP forum, right?
Anyway looks like this isn't currently something that works on Mac OS X, so I'll go put in a feature request.

I moved this topic from the General Support forum of XnView Classic to that of MP about a week ago. Today, its shadow topic has been deleted.Mixer wrote:Yes, NOW when moderator moved your topic from XnView Classic forum to XnView MP forum it is.
