picture rotates when categrory gets assigned

MP 0.76.1 x64 on Win8.1

When I assign a category to a portrait photo the photo gets rotated let in XnViewMP to landscape.
To show it again in portrait I have to rotate it once right (then it rotates 180 degrees) and once left.
