Xnview show the last picture in a folder even if deleted

This is a very old strange behaviour.
I never reported it because it's not dangerous or important. But I would like to see this fixed because is a little bit confusing for the user.

You have a folder with photos inside. You double click the first photo and start browsing all the photos using the viewer only and page up page down to change the photo shown.
You delete the photos one by one using the "Del" key. When you delete the last photo it will not disappear! Even if the folder now is empty you will keep looking at the last deleted photo even if it is not in you hard disk anymore!

It's confusing!
I want that when I delete the last photo it will disappear from the viewer. The viewer should show only a grey background! So that the user will know for sure that he delete all the photos!
