Show the old name of the 1st of selected (actual) files instead of the last used - e.g. if the 1st file is 'Sunset 001' then 'Sunset ###'
Or add an option: "use actual name" / "use last used name"
Or at least add the button to do this, because it's now possible only with a mouse double click on the file below and many users don't know about that
Minor suggestion - append a hotkey (F2) to the context menu for Batch Rename (F2 hotkey already works, just append it there)
Thank you!

Re: Batch Rename - Show actual name instead of last used
Think it's hard to anticipate which template for the filename the user wants to use. But it would be really good if there was a history of the last/applied templates. For this, I suggest to have a dropdown combobox which holds the most recent templates as list.Dreamer wrote:Show the old name of the 1st of selected (actual) files instead of the last used - e.g. if the 1st file is 'Sunset 001' then 'Sunset ###'

Right. It should say "Batch rename... F2" in the context menu.Dreamer wrote:Minor suggestion - append a hotkey (F2) to the context menu for Batch Rename (F2 hotkey already works, just append it there)
Re: Batch Rename - Show actual name instead of last used
But if option "Purge 'most recent used files & directories' on exit" is enabled, then delete this list too, because some users don't want to save these items, if they rename some private images...helmut wrote:Think it's hard to anticipate which template for the filename the user wants to use. Re: Batch Rename - Show actual name instead of last used
And what about this

I guess, this option was in AC***e and users expect this in XnView too, but they can't find it (even if it's there).helmut wrote:... many users don't know - including me.Dreamer wrote:Or at least add the button to do this, because it's now possible only with a mouse double click on the file below and many users don't know about thatVery handy, but very hidden. Think this is a candidate for the context menu or a separate button

Re: Batch Rename - Show actual name instead of last used
Thank you (also for new and current users who find this feature). Maybe you could add it even to 'What's new'xnview wrote:Ok, i'll change it too
