File delete from Linux to NTFS fail

Post by argybee »

I use several Linux systems on several machines and keep my images on non-boot NTFS partitions.
Choosing delete makes the selected file(s) disappear from XNVIEWMP but are not actually deleted from the disk.
Refresh makes them reappear.
I currently have to keep a file manager or cmdline open just to delete files properly.
This has been the same status for the past few versions.

Well I don't have problems mounting the drive... just deleting files from it.

Did you confirm true NTFS deletion (by refreshing/reloading XnView or by a file-manager or command-line) ?

I have this problem on all of 6 installations using Ubuntu 12.04 to 15.10 using 2 versions of XnView.

I think that partition needs a trash folder so that it works.
