Hi,
I was wondering if the categories filters could be used to display all the pictures having some categories OR THEIR CHILDEN (=subcategories) ?
For instance, if I tick "Europe", I would like XNView to display all the pictures having the category "Italy" (child of "Europe"), even if they're not categorised as "Europe".
Does anyone knows some way to do that ?
Many thanks in advance !

Hi:
I Believe you need to use the pulldown (Match). At the top of the filter panel. Should be an arrow...
Change the options to any or recusive.

Re: Categories and Parents
Thank you very much Eric for your swift reply !
However, in the "Match" pulldown, there is indeed two submenus :
1st : [Any / All]
2nd : [Global / Current folder / Current folder (recursive)]
The first submenu commands if all categories are required, but on my version it does not have any effect with subcategories.
The second menu seems to command the drive scope, but does not have any effect either with subcategories.
Is there some option I need to change ?
Thanks in advance !

Sorry, I took folder to mean Cats..in the options. I see no other way to control this and since we find an option to (Auto apply parent) I don't think it it here.Tannhauser wrote:The second menu seems to command the drive scope, but does not have any effect either with subcategories.

I don't use sub cats myself because of the mess they make,
Maybe someone else can chime in to answer this better than I can...
