Hello
I am trying to use XNVIEW 1.72 for bitonal 400DPIs DJVU. XNVIEW has a djvu plugin Xdjvu.dll 1.74 - I just get the message "Format can't be determined". The option "load djvu with maximal DJVU" has no effect in either position. I tried to use older plugins Xdjvu.dll but it does not work either.
Can anybody help me please? I have no problems opening djvu files in other programs - only in xnview.
Thank you
yAo
DJVU (Bitonal 400DPI ) not opening in xnview 1.74

<Unknown format>

- Confirmed here under Win 98 SE, error message, while the plugin-DLL is alright in the <Plugins> sub-dir.

1.80 even worse and so XNVIEW Deluxe with djvu plugin

I tried 1.80 now and it crashes immediately when I browse with djvu to directory with djvu plugins.
I tried the xnview deluxe and the result is the same.
I use winxp sp2.
So does the XNVIEW supports the djvu at all?

Thanks

IrfanView has no problem with DJVU bitonal

I do noyt like irfanview becaouse you cant set bicubic resampling (as you can in xnview) in "fit to width" mode in fullscreen. So I would like to use xnview for that. Is there any place to post a bug requst so that the author may see it and possibly help?

Thanks
yAo
*Points to the bug reports forum a couple places below the general support one: http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewforum.php?f=36 *

When creating a DJVU image, you have a choice between photographic, scanned, and 2 others (I forget what they are ATM). Photographic format will work in any prog that can handle DJVU at all. The scanned format causes xnview to crash upon opening.
Note: You might want to consider converting your DJVU images into the LDF format. The formats are nearly identical, but LDF is much better supported. The one place DJVU has the advantage is in multipage images, freeware LDF can only have up to 6 pages and/or forces a watermark (depending what prog you use).

DJVU bitonal
Thanks for the help.
I am talking about the BITONAL mode (JB2). that is one the 4 that you did not mentioned (the 4th is CLEAN). I use and create the djvu for a long time. It is much better code in my opinion than LDF - just try to look what amounts of the RAM memory LDF as well as PDF are taking when large document is opened. DJVU will take into the memory just the page that is sent to the interface.
Regarding the quality of the ldf versus djvu just please look at

or here

If the djvu-bitonal can be opened with the plugin in Irfanview (it can!) I am sure it would not be difficoult to fix the plugin in xnview too.
Thanks
