MP Doesn't load thumbnails

Here's a side by side comparison of a folder in MP and Classic.
Why don't the thumbnails display in MP?
Is this controlled by one or more settings?
Is it to do with the folder location?

I'm stumped!

Could you please post a screenshot of your configuration in Tools » Settings... » File list » Custom filter?
What are your settings in View » Filter by?

I'm filtering on Custom, though I have tried changing it with no effect.

Is Enable thumbnail caching in Tools » Settings... » Catalog » Catalog » Cache maintenance activated?
If so, could you please Rebuild thumbnails for Cache directory Z:\Artefacts\Imagery\Photo\Calendric\2011\11\06\?

Yes, it occurs with other folders. Some, but not all.

Caching: there's an Enable thumbnail caching tickbox that's selected.
Is that what you're after?
That particular directory wasn't cached.
MP spent some while building the catalog when I added the folder.
Then crashed. Report file d7e5264a-4ad5-4d50-bb6d-fcd238cdfa2d.dmp

Aside from that, whenever I try to rebuild thumbnails, MP crashes.

Yes. Having done that a few time already, regarding other crashes, Pierre & I have had an occasional dialogue, but there's no futher clue yet.

I gather that there's nothing more I can do now about this particular problem. Or is there?

If not, MP is usable only for a select group of images on this machine.

No, only move the .db files in another folder, to start with a clean database

I am going through a folder full of movies taken by our gopro. There are gopro's mp4 files and gopro's .thm files.
The .thm files just show is icons and don't show the image.
They show as images in Xnview Classic, however.

The GoPro THM files seem to be JPEGs with a different filename extension.
You can tell XnView Classic to Recognize only by extension (Tools » Options… » File List » Misc.). MP doesn't have this setting (yet).

Ah, yes, I thought I saw *somewhere* that it was really a jpg file.

Funny thing is that I can VIEW it in the viewer - it just doesn't show as thumbnail. Classic already displays it. But MP - I even set MP to be the default viewer for THM files.

So, there is currently no way to make MP display thm files in the browser mode?

I found a few samples and MP's browser creates thumbnails for these THMs on my XP box.
Is Show all graphic formats (Tools » Settings… » General » General) activated?
