Please bring back to have the possibility to have different size and position of viewer and browser
Unfortunately the interface option "Use different position/size for browser & view" had been removed.
Imo that is restricted regarding individual needs .....
Maybe it is by concept that the same windows is used for browsing and viewing now
Or may it be reintroduced later on?

Re: Different size/position of browser and viewer
Using an analogy: it's similar to using a small windowed file explorer for navigation purposes,
but when viewing a word-doc file, you may want to see it within a large window.
With browser and viewer it is the same.
If you doubleclick on an doc file within the explorer, you are normally
not restricted that your word window has the same size and position as your file explorer
(or vice versa: that your explorer window size is forced to have the same size as the viewing application ..)
Browsing and viewing are different things with probably different individual needs and habits.

Hello,klaus2 wrote:I have no understanding yet if this request might be, basically, accepted or not .... :-/
...In fact, 3 modes are available into XnViewMP (or XnView):
- The Browser mode with thumbnails & a "small" preview(as default)
. The Viewer mode (double click on thumbnail, to open/close it)
- The Full Screen mode (midle mouse click on thumbnail, to open/close it)
So, you can switch between: Browser<-->FullScreen modes, via a simple "middle mouse click" for example to have the picture on your whole screen. Or a "simple double click" or "Enter" key: Browser<-->View modes.
...Do you want to have a separate Browser window mode and Viewer window mode, so an option to split the both modes on 2 different windows ?

Re: Different size/position of browser and viewer
Hello,
Browser(treeview, thumbs, preview) is used as kind of control center (like the explorer in the analogy above)
and the size is relatively small in my use case. There's no need to change oftenly, ...as the subelement's dimensions normally are static.
But the image's sizes are supposed to vary ... and same as a winword document i open by doubleclick imo not should
restriced by the explorer's size, the size of the image area (viewer) should not be restriced by the browser's size
but should be definalble separately.
In xnview that's perfect in my eyes and maybe hopefully it might be reintroduced into xnview mp at a later stage
of development too.
Yes, exactly .. like in xnview..Do you want to have a separate Browser window mode and Viewer window mode, so an option to split the both modes on 2 different windows ?

Re: Different size/position of browser and viewer
I would like to renew this suggesion.
Having this option, it would is possible to keep the viewing window (size, position) different
from the browser window, so appearing as a seperate window rather than a register sheet within the main window.

Re: Different size/position of browser and viewer
Sorry .... i'm still unsure if it is bascally foreseen to reintruduce this option ( "Use different position/size for browser & view").
My preference is to have the viewer not within a tab, but as a separate window. Browser and Viewer with diffeent sizes/positions.
xnview classic allows that. Might it come back some day?

One can undock the Preview pane to achieve this thing.
Two monitors support is already here - FullScreen can be put on the 2nd monitor, check the settings.
