Customise meaning of stars and colours
I'm using XnView to organise my image collection and workflow. It would be very useful to be able to redefine what the stars and colours represent, from the standard ones to user-defined ones, and for these new labels to appear in the filters [ie I'd like to be able to change, for example, "5* Excellent" to "5* Printed and mounted", and (Red) "Important" to (Red) "To be deleted", etc]

Re: Customise meaning of stars and colours
Thanks, XnTriq.
I'm fairly new to XnView and although I thought I'd trawled through all the menus, I hadn't done a good job and discovered that one. So my colours are now redefined, but I guess you are confirming I can't do that for the stars?
It's taken me many hours of trying and checking many photo viewers and organisers before I found XnView and given it a good try. It's very good I think. I've a couple of other observations I'll enter.

Re: Customise meaning of stars and colours
I manually edited xnview.ini:
The wording changed accordingly in the Categories Filter panel but not in the View » Rating & Colour label menu
Code: Select all
[Browser]
ratingLabel=Unrated, one, two, three, four, five
