Hello,
The new Ubuntu ships with libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0, and not libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0. I cannot install the older version with the newer version already installed.
After I install XnviewMP, I get the following error:
$ xnview /opt/XnView/XnView: error while loading shared libraries: libgstapp-0.10.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Why does this program depend on an obsolete package, and how do I fix it?
Thank you!

Hi loomis,
Please have a look to this thread: "Linux: Ubuntu 16.10 yakketi Yak and XnViewMP", and post there an update in case you get it improved.
