How can I *easily* manage tags, like in F-Stop?

On my Android, I use an awesome app for photo management, F-Stop. It makes it super easy to tag photos (has autocomplete, a list of tags to choose from, when tagging multiple images it suggests tags that already exist in some of the images etc.) and it saves the tags in XMP format within the JPG, so the data is usable in XnView MP.

However, I haven't found a good flow for easily and rapidly (keyboard shortcuts) tagging images as I go through them in XnView MP. I can't even change categories via the Properties dialog.

What do people do? What is your workflow?

I'm also confused about the mapping between "Categories" and XMP data stored in the image. For example, I can rename the "me" category to "myself", but when I view an image's Properties, the XMP data still reads "me", while the "Category" will show "myself". Is this a read-only one-way mapping? Why does it even exist? Since the renaming isn't saved within the image, other apps will still show the old tag.

You have to turn this on inside the options panel: under metadata. If not it only writes to the .db and not the file.
Or use tools, edit metadata. Inside this dialog are options on how it writes data also.

You can use drag and drop or right click catagories.
