'Next file' and 'Last file' have different response speed

Post by ZF Tang »

I installed version 1.80.1 on my win2000 system.

When I explorer a directory containing about 5000 image files with ppm format (size 352x288), I found that the program's response to pagedown key (next file) is slow than that to pageup key(last file).

Is this a bug?

Try this:

Options > View > File List > Cache - enable both options here

Maybe my description about the problem was not correct.

If the first option is enabled, the program will keep no response for several seconds before displaying the next image after I press the 'Next file' button.

Enabling the second option does not cause the problem.

I also tried a directory containing 200 image files, this problem didn't occur.

In which mode do you are? View or browser? In fullscreen?
So you have only "read ahead" to reproduce it?

In viewer mode.
