There is a nice hidden feature which shows/hides all panes in order to see only the thumbs. This feature is very useful when someone wants to quickly look for something, but it is hidden very well among the buttons of the toolbar:
Please add this feature to the View menu.

IMO, these commands should even be available in the toolbar by default.

You may want to consider adding buttons (Tools » Settings... » Interface » ToolBar) for the following commands to the toolbar of Browse mode:
- cmd_thumbsView
- cmd_treeShow
- cmd_infoView
- cmd_showPreview

What do you think?
(I like that new tab icon very much).
