FTP Plugin/Addon for XNViewMP

Post by techrat »

I have been using XNview on windows for sometime and love it. The FTP add on is critical for my work flow and I am looking to migrate to Ubuntu. I have installed XnviewMp and need to figure out how to get a FTP Plugin working with XnviewMp. Ideally, I would like to bind the FTP plugin to a specific set of keystrokes but will be very happy to just have the functionality. Please let me know if anyone has any idea how to do this.

Thanks,

Perhaps the FTP plugin will be in the next version...

Been away for a while but just downloaded the V0.34 and it is awesome! Thanks for adding the FTP capability. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but everything I have seen so far looks great! Thanks Again! Great Job!

Re: FTP Plugin/Addon for XNViewMP *BUG?*

Post by techrat »

So I finally got back to attempting to USE XnView MP for my workflow which requires the send via FTP to be as efficient as possible. I have found what appears to be a bug however. The "bug" relates to uploading via FTP to anything other than the root folder on the remote machine. I.e. If I leave the target directory blank the files upload just fine into the root directory. Also I can use / for the target directory and it works fine as well. As soon as I add a target directory below the root directory, the send will hang without sending the file.

I am hopeful that this is something that can be fixed fairly easily as I am anxious to start integrating XnView MP back into my workflow.

Thanks!

I can't reproduce... The folder on FTP server is created? You enter something like /folder?

Thanks for trying to reproduce! As it turns out, my host has some weird symlinks set up in my root directory that were throwing me off. Once I put a path that was a "real" path I had no more problems.
Works perfect! Exactly what I needed. Thanks!

Are we talking about the 'Send By FTP' functionality? Is there any functionality to browse over FTP?

Yes.

No. This implies a whole bunch of programming outside of XnView's scope - there are a lot of free FTP clients for this task.
