I have used several versions of XnView MP and upgraded every time a new release has come out, and that has never before caused any trouble.
But now, upgrading from 0.83 to 0.84 is different.
The upgrading itself was trouble free, with no errors. But when I try to start the application, there are quite some hard disc activity for about 5 seconds and then nothing happens. I have tried to re-install it but the result is the same.
I am running Linux Mint 13 64-bit.
What has happened ?

when you start it from a terminal, what do you have?
Pierre.

You have to go in xnview folder before using ./xnview.sh
Pierre.
Re: 0.84 Linux: Program won't start after upgrade from 0.83
In usr/bin/ there is a file xnview
I open the terminal in usr\bin\ and the result is the same:
-------------------------------------------
./xnview.sh
bash: ./xnview.sh: Filen eller katalogen finns inte
-------------------------------------------
It is Swedish, and I translate it to: The file or the catalog (folder) does not exist
I run the same command in opt/XnView/
Then I got this:
-------------------------------------------
./xnview.sh
This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "xcb"
in "".
Available platform plugins are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen, xcb.
Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Re: 0.84 Linux: Program won't start after upgrade from 0.83
No, I have now un-installed 0.84 and re-installed 0.83 and 0.83 works fine.
However, I have a laptop running Peppermint Linux 7 and on that computer XnView MP 0.84 works fine.
