Hello everybody,
If I view pictures from my HD they were all cached and this is good.
But when I insert a CD with pictures they must generate everyone(so they aren´t cach).
In the options I haven´t found this feature. Does someone know, how I can enable this or is it not possible.
Thank you for an answer.
Michael

I have a suggestion which would work well
XNview could use a file like Paint Shop Pro's JBF file
(but with xnview quality thumbnails)
This way the cached thumbnails would be available on every machine that the CD was put into!
My idea is that an item on the tools menu could be used to create this file in every directory on the hard drive (before the CD is made). You then burn the CD. XNview then looks for this file before it generates thumbnails (if it doesnt find it, it procedes as before)
For CDs already made then the suggestions above could be used (my idea would work alongside them, that's the beauty of it)

Just been doing some research and I notice that JPegger works in exactly the way I suggested above. Shame really that the program isn't as nice to use as XNview.
Whilst on the subject of JPegger the way you can have the program layout. ie switch between the preview panel or the thumbs, or the tree and list or the thumbs is a fantastic idea (they call it 'flip thumbnails'). This NEEDS to be incorporated into XNview IMO!

No-one had anything to say on this? I think for CDs you need to have the thumbnails stored there on the CD for use on different machines!lipidicman wrote: XNview could use a file like Paint Shop Pro's JBF file
