XMP metadata not shown in png

The properties box for png files only shows the iptc data, but not xmp. Standard-wise, this is the exact wrong way 'round, as iptc isn't meant to be there (but works fine with exiftool), but xmp or legacy png tags are the official way.

Suggestion/Bug: Please add the xmp tab to png files.

Absolutely, since I do multi-language tags for my photography I had to drop the whole iptc "encoding of hell" and whatnot legacy stuff and switched to multilang & utf-8 xmp.

You can add xmp tags to png just like that with exiftool, and esp. in this case it's beneficial as the "official" png tag is extremely limited and as written above iptc isn't in the spec at all.

Sure, attached. It's not unusual, I simply deleted all metadata from the files and did "exiftool -XMP-dc:Subject=Testing123 *". With these and XnViewMP, when right click on image -> Properties the xmp tab shows for the jpg, but not for the png even though the metadata is identical.

For me this works fine in v0.84: For both files XnView displays XMP data.

Could you please check with the current XnView 0.84 and confirm the bug fix, Marsu42?
