Webshots file support

Post by Wuyko_WINDOWS »

Pierre,

XnView 1.80 and 1.80.1 can't support Webshots (.wbz, .wbc) files. Why?

So your problem is actually with 1.80.1, NOT 1.8. I never updated to 1.80.1, I'm still using 1.80.

Do you have enabled options/General/Startup/Use all formats?
Pierre.

I am using the windows version of XnView, version 1.80.1, with "all formats" checked under general options, and am unable to view wbz files.

Well, I just installed 1.80.1 and tried it with webshots files, and it worked fine. Have you tried opening those same files in 1.74? Perhaps there's something wrong with the files themselves.

I have the same problem and it also displays error message: "Format of the file <file name.wbc> could not be determined"

Go to associations in the options menu, scroll down, and see if WBC, WBP, and WBZ appear as options. (Don't change anything, just see if those 3 are there.)

Cannot view Webshots files

Post by Dutchie »

The following info may be useful for anyone reading this topic. The reason I ended up here was for the same as mentioned before.Under associations the wbc and wbz extensions were not listed.I triplechecked!

However, since I was encouraged by Drahken,I tried to open a webshots .wbc file. The little dialogbox first showed the type of file as "All files".When I used the arrow for the dropdown menu, among all the file ext. ,only Webshots wb1 was listed. When OK'd, the file did open and could be viewed.

I then went further and converted the file to jpg.Worked fine Closed XnView. When I reopened it and checked Associations again, all of a sudden those extensions (wb1,wbc and wbz) had been added to the list.
Don't ask me how :) All I know they are there now.
That's all I needed.
Good luck to all.
Peter.
