XN-View MP is configured to start the last time used directory in browser mode.
Last time, I used e.g. the folder "C:\temp" in browser mode of Xn-View MP.
After that, I closed the folder and deleted it in windows explorer.
Then I started XN-View MP again and the program asked me to open the "XnView Website.url" within a (open|save|cancel) dialog.
I tried different buttons (open, cancel, etc.), but the program freezed.

No such problem, XnViewMP will use the XnView folder
