Contact sheet unwanted spacing

Although I set both the horizontal and vertical spacing to zero pixels, the result for a 2x2 array comes out like this:

While there is no space between columns, there is between rows and this seems to apply regardless of the size or number of images on the sheet. I'm otherwise impressed by the software, so if anyone can tell me how to remove this unwanted gap, I'd be most grateful.

I've tried with the grid at 3x3, 4x4 etc and there's always the gap between rows. With the aspect ratio of the sheet and the images at 4:3, shouldn't they fit exactly?
