XnView opens images perfectly fine... except for in my biggest folder, containing all my main photo albums. When I try to open any images in that folder (or its sub-folders), it immediately crashes with "An unexpected error has occurred..."
I don't understand it, there are no foreign characters in the folder path, nor is it a long file path.
Could it be crashing because the folder has a large number of sub-folders (about 2,500)? I have a similar folder with about 1,500 sub-folders, and that always opens fine, but I've noticed that the crashing seems to get more frequent the bigger the folder got.
Could anyone please help? This is driving me mad!

do you have only image files? which format? do you use the x64bits version?
Pierre.

Yes the folder only contains JPEGs and I use the x64bit version (I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit).xnview wrote:do you have only image files? which format? do you use the x64bits version?
I've done more testing today and just made a new discovery... I don't think this has anything to do with the contents or size of the folder, the problem only seems to occur when I'm downloading into the folder. I use a program to download images, and when I pause downloading, XnView works normally and can open all the images!
But the strange thing is, when I was downloading I couldn't open images from any of the sub-folders, even though I was only downloading images into one of the sub-folders.

some users have the problem when an image file is written, XnView crash...

I'm not sure what the problem is. Sometimes it crashes, other times it doesn't. Often it crashes when I'm downloading into a subfolder with the same parent.xnview wrote:some users have the problem when an image file is written, XnView crash...
I will try to do more tests and determine exactly what is causing it. Thanks for the great program!
