Slide Show - Videos not working

I'm using XnView to continuously play a library of pictures and videos. The pictures work fine, but the videos don't play. How do I get the videos to play? I saw a post regarding gstreamer plugins, but don't know how to install.

If you are using Ubuntu, you can install gstreamer via Synaptic, the package manager. See other posts for which gstreamer version you need for XnViewMP.

Another way of playing videos (which I use) is via an associated program, e.g. VLC. In Settings, go to File List and then make sure that "Associated program" is selected for Video under "Open with". You set the associated program for MP4 etc in the operating system - in my case under the heading "Default Applications".
