Double Click a thumbnail, & enlargement is too light

Double Click a thumbnail, & enlargement is too light
If I double click a thumbnail, the image enlarges to screen size as I have set, but the image is a lot lighter gamma than the thumbnail version. Is there a way to decrease gamma for images I have double clicked from thumbnails? I could not find in PREFERENCES.

you have settings>View>Use gamma correction

Thank you. I saw that before but forgot that I must click OK to make it permanent. Appreciate your response.
