The thumbnails just have many noise dot and artifacts.
What about add a setting that can manual set the compress level? Like q85 q90 ...etc
It's more flexable and better than before.

Ok, IMHO it can be implemented. However I strongly think that your problem comes from the fact that the thumbnails stored in your catalog/DB are way too small compared with the thumbnails which you see on the screen.kxmp wrote: Thu May 24, 2018 7:35 am The default pre-set quality is too low. (even jpg high quality)

Do like this:
1. Open a folder of your choice with "many noise dot and artifacts".
2. Go to Tools | Settings | Catalog and press {Get thumbnail size} (optionally select WebP - it should be better)
3. Press Ok to close the dialog
4. In your folder press Ctrl+A to select all images.
5. Go to View | Rebuild Thumbnails
It is better now?
